Description

Lithium-ion batteries (hereinafter referred to as lithium batteries) have been rapidly occupying the power source market of portable electronic and electrical equipment since their commercialization because of their significant advantages such as high voltage, high specific capacity, long life and no memory effect, and the output is increasing year by year. Lithium batteries are electronic consumables with a service life of about 3 years. If the end-of-life lithium batteries are not properly disposed of, the lithium hexafluorophosphate, organic carbonate and heavy metals such as cobalt and copper will definitely pose a potential pollution threat to the environment. In order to alleviate the increasingly serious problem of resource shortage and environmental pollution caused by rapid economic development, it has become a global consensus to realize the recycling of all components of waste materials. The copper (content of about 35%) of waste lithium battery negative sheet is an important production material widely used, and the carbon powder adhered to it can be used as an additive for plastics and rubber. Therefore, the effective separation of the constituent materials of waste lithium battery cathodes is a driving force for the resourcefulness of waste lithium batteries to a high extent and the elimination of their corresponding environmental impact. Commonly used waste lithium battery treatment methods include wet, thermal and mechanical-physical methods. Compared with the wet and fire methods, the mechanical-physical method does not need to use chemical reagents and consumes less energy, which is an environmentally friendly and effective method. Based on the structural characteristics of Li-ion battery negative, our company adopts a combination of crushing and screening and airflow sorting process to separate and screen them, so as to realize the recovery of aluminum and carbon powder in the waste Li-ion battery negative.

Solution

Working principle of negative electrode sheet equipment
Based on the material characteristics of the structure of lithium battery negative wafer and its constituent materials copper and negative materials, a combination of hammer vibration crushing, vibratory screening and airflow sorting process was used to separate and recover the constituent materials of waste lithium battery negative wafer. ICP-AES was used to analyze the metal grades of the experimental samples and the separated and enriched products. The results showed that the grade of copper in the crushed material with particle size larger than 0.250 mm was 92.4%, while the grade of copper in the crushed material with particle size smaller than 0.125 mm was 96.6%, which could be recovered directly. In the process of airflow sorting, the recovery rate of copper reaches 92.3% and the grade reaches 84.4% when the operating airflow speed is 1.00 m/s.

Process Flow

1, Crusher: The material is crushed after the airflow sorting.

2, Analysis machine: the crushed materials are separated by wind selection.

3, Linear sieve: the materials sorted by the analysis machine for screening, the metal materials and negative very powder are sorted out.

4, specific gravity sifter: the metal and black powder mixture in the linear sieve into the specific gravity sifter for sorting.

5, Collector: collect the positive very powder for discharge.

6, Pulse purifier: collect and discharge the dust produced in the operation of the whole set of equipment.
